Thanks for the tip Jörg but would the security measures in fedora prevent it starting up? I intend to access fedora in the main using islandora once I get it up and running

As mentioned earlier: IBM Java delivered together with SLES11 (Suse) turned out to be insufficient, changing to Java 6 from java.com fixed some problems I had.
