In addition to the other Fedora activities currently under way, a migration
of the project website is also taking place. The schema files were offline
for a short while during the site migration. The link to batchModify.xsd
should be working for you once again.

As for the future of fedora-modify [1], enhanced batch operations have
recently been added to the Fedora 4 REST API [2]. Client tooling could
certainly be written against this (or related) API. The intention is to
support capabilities that Fedora users value and need as we move into
Fedora 4.

It would be helpful to hear your use case(s) for batch operations, and
ideally make sure it is documented in the Fedora use cases wiki [3].
