Greetings
Several days ago my Core 2 desktop failed to boot. Apparently, there was a failure in the MBR. I couldn't figure out how to use the rescue component of the F9 installation DVD.
Luckily, using another machine connected to the internet and having a CD burner capability, I found supergrubdisk.org. I downloaded the image, burned it to a CD, and following the onscreen instructions got the MBR repaired (very quickly, btw) and the machine appears to be working in the same fashion prior to the failure.
