rpm -q dbus

It's most likely an issue between kde and using gdm (dbus communication 
failure), a workaround includes switching to kdm, by either 
rpm -e gdm
or editing/creating a file: /etc/sysconfig/desktop  , containing:
DISPLAYMANAGER=KDE
(and reboot).
