absorb this:

from you wording, it sounds like you may have moved different file in
with firefox still open.

*or*, and _most_likely_, your version of firefox is using 'places.sqlite'
for your bookmarks. have a look in your '*.default' directory.

if you see 'places.sqlite', then you will have to *import* 'bookmarks.html'
into your *active* bookmarks.

also, if you are using 'bookmarks toolbar' you will have to move old
'bookmarks toolbar' addresses into active 'bookmarks toolbar' to see
them in firefox.
