I think it's great that there are actually bands out there using source code management tools for their music! (being able to file a bug against your guitar players solo would be pretty amusing ;), but I don't that this is exactly what we are trying to gear towards. Instead of providing a central colloboration server to manage song/track revisions, I think it should be designed around handling derivations (while keeping a solid audit trail of creators and licenses, of course).
