fuse-s3fs-0.4.3 provides the option "-p <pubkey>". AFAIK it's not a public key
(like pgp/x.509 public key). Same apply to the man page.

Amazon use "Access Key" and "Secret Access Key". Amazon keep the "Secret Access
Key". This is like login/password.

In contrast, for X.509 certificate (used by ec2), Amazon use "Public Key" and
"Private Key". Amazon do not keep the "Private Key".

Perhaps I am wrong.
