If this is a problem with sshd starting, it's very interesting.Can you boot the guest in single user mode and see if you can trigger the bug by starting sshd manually.
Also take a look at 'xm dmesg'.Another route is to upgrade to a more recent hypervisor (ie. Fedora 7 as the host).
