Hi Larry! I remember you from years back. Was it the FAQ you used to run?

First off, as shocking as this may seem, I am still around....
And yeah I read that post a few months ago about old timers still kicking around.... I have 61844 unread messages in the group just sitting on my
PC.... which I will catch up on in the next 5 years probably....
I stopped actively reading the list a while ago, as I found myself
encountering way too many spoilers, and lacking the self control to not read
them :)

With life being what it was, I stopped reading any of the riftwar books after Talon, when I decided I was going to wait for the last Riftwar book to be out, and then read them all back to back.... as I just couldn't seem to
wait patiently between books anymore.

Anyway, I went out and bought ACI... not knowing about the mistakes in the book. Last week, I had read about the issue on Amazon's website (Thanks John for posting)... Sent an e-mail to HC... and less then a week later I have a
corrected version. That being said... I ran into a situation where the
original and the new version were mixed up before the original was
'destroyed' as requested from HC... So long way of reaching the question... But how would I know by looking at the 2 books, which is the correct one and which is the bad copy.... Is there a page or text I can look for to let me
know?

Secondly... if I had not read John's post on amazon... and not switched the book out, and a year from now after "Magician's End" comes out... and I read ACI... would I be completely lost? Is it just one chapter that's messed up? The posts on Amazon had said there were a lot of errors in the book, and I didn't know how bad they were, or if it was just some disgruntled reader
thrown off by the bad chapter issue.

I am going to have to start reading the old e-mails on the list again...
Some pretty interesting threads seemed to have passed me by.

It is refreshing to see the list carries on... like an old book... the
characters we are used to seeing are still around... and the occasional troll still pops up that needs a thrashing. And yes this post is probably the longest one I have written to the list.. but I haven't posted in like 7
years so :p

Still Here... and Still lurking....PsiHawk

Larry
