Ah, you’re missing the best scenery in the uk!! Edingburgh to Manchester by 
rail I always went east coast Edingburgh to York, York to Manchester. Goes 
through Newcastle & Leeds as well as fantastic scenery round Berwick & Alnwick 
as well as through Yorkshire. York station is ‘quaint’. West coast route is a 
change at Wigan which is better left there!

I've done it before, but I don't remember if we did it by car or train or 
plane,.  I think by car.  When I'm in the car, I'm in the back seat taking a 
nap, so it's all good.
