I'm a little surprised they previewed that much. In theory, I haven't done a rewrite on the material posted, so either it'll change or they're happy with it the way it is. In any event, this is the most collaborative thing i've done since the computer games. And what other people see is really fun. On another note, I noticed a couple of negative reviews on Jimmy on Amazon. I usually don't look at reviews, but I was there seeing if they had a release date yet for the US edition (I assume those who posted reviews either got the UK edition or advances from HC). I don't debate reviewers; everyone likes a different flavor ice cream. But I should point out for those who says it "lacks depth" it's a novella. And it's a short one at that. it wasn't designed to be a full blown novel. Moreover, it was a marketing test that HC UK wanted to try out, as they have with a couple of their other authors, attempting to see what the market will bear, what demand is for various non-traditional publishing attempts, etc. I have no idea how this one will shake out. Hate it because it's bad, but don't hate it because it's brief; it's supposed to be brief.
