Wow, what a great story PJ!!!

Troy, for myself I took the medication Chantix which helped greatly with
the urges/anxiety of quitting. I tried the patches last year, which DID
NOT work for me! Once I did finally put down the smokes, keeping my
hands busy (i.e. cleaning the house and/or car as Ray suggested) or
using my new kindle say after a meal also helped me a lot. I've seen
the squeeze ball to keep your hands occupied also work. After five
weeks, the only time I think about them is when I'm drinking.

If none of that works for you, you can always go down the e-cig road, at
least you won't be inhaling the cigarette fumes any longer if you do.

Either way, I wish you much luck!!

One of my most prized possession to remind me of my mother (now gone) is
her last empty pack of cigarettes, the last one she ever smoked. The
story here is that when I was a young kid I was insisting very strongly
that she stops smoking, and when she finally stopped, on November 22....
I never noticed.... until she wrapped that empty pack as a Christmas
gift a month later, with a note inside that was basically a laugh at me.
More than 30 years later I still have the pack and the note :)

She never smoked after that, she in fact disliked the smell of it very
strongly afterward.

Congrats am trying to quit myself and not finding it easy as I am at
home on disability pension, the pain combined with the sometimes boredom
makes it soo hard. I missed the earlier suggestions as I did a big
clean of my inbox I see chewing gum ( which due to being epileptic I try
not to use ( chewing gum + seizure = death )) anyone got any other tips
/ tricks I have managed to cut down to a about 5 full smokes a day and
am smoking them in 1/3's so not much nico in system now ( used to be a
pack to pack and half a day smoker ).
Thanks for any help
