Hard back books are the way to go... although they do hurt more when they
smack you in the face if you fall asleep reading them in bed!

@John Now I'm going to have to open a few boxes, thought I had all the
Gemmell books in hardback, but could be deluding myself. I only keep a
paperback copy of Legend and KBTG on my shelves to lend out.
