Daniel Fagerstrom commented on FELIX-58:
----------------------------------------

I see. The advantage with your approach is that it should be reasonable simple
to make it work with the APIs that Jetty sujpports. The drawback is that it
doesn't support rappid development, the webapp must be packed before it can be
tried. With the approaches I proposed the bundle is the webapp and if it is
installed by reference you can work on it and test the result of your work
without needing to pack and restart all the time. But I'm less optimistic about
how easy it would be to implement the approach I proposed.

> Since our HTTP Service uses Jetty underneath, it would be interesting to
> extend it to support deploying WARs in bundles. Marcel Offermans has done
> some work in this area, so I am assigning this issue to him. :-) I am not
> sure if this issue can be done independently of a move to Jetty 5/6 (see
> FELIX-55) or if it should be coordinated or merged somehow.
