I am a bit tired of year long release candidates so I've set the version number
of Felix
to 1.1.6 and will soon release it.

Unfortunately there's no tarball and I'm not sure how to tell people how to
grab this
release from GitHub .. or even if I want to.

In 1.1.6 a major long standing memory corruption preventing many tools
including the
webserver and flx_cp from operating correctly has been fixed .. I forgot to
tell Felix
that the RE2 object was a gc pointer -- required a one word fix!

I also fixed the axiom check bug so now all the tests except gmp with dynamic
linkage
work on OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

Flx_cp now handles a huge number of files and transfers the last modification
date
to the new file, as well as permissions. So it is now suitable for use in the
build system.

I plan to write some tools and improve the existing ones and make the binaries
directly downloadable from the felix-lang.org web site, for Linux and for OSX
(64 bit
Snow Leopard). I hope this may get some people interested.

Writing tools means upgrading the library, and it provides some serious testing
of the
Felix system capabilities .. as well as providing a nice demo.

I am now seriously thinking of rewriting part of the webserver to use fthreads
(fibres)
for the formatting code instead of the existing extremely complex and difficult
to
maintain state machine. Could be interesting!
