Hi Hideyo,

 

Coming out and meowing sound like positive steps.  How old is Ceasar; sometimes on kittens you will feel ribs on the side of the body regardless of weight.  Do you know how to 'tent' to check for dehydration?  You can either take your thumb and forefinger and slightly squeeze and pull upward a little 'v' of skin between the shoulder blades or back of the neck.  If the skin stays up (sort of like a little tent) and takes a few seconds to return to being flat against the body, the animal is likely dehydrated.  The skin should normally snap right back.  Another way to test is by touching the gums; are they sticky at all?  They should not be; they should be smooth and slick. I hope this helps; good thoughts and prayers are on the way.

I am at work right now and going home soon as soon as I get my deadline stuff out here – but I did talk to my boyfriend who just checked on Ceaser for me.. and he told me that he came our from his hiding place when he visited him meowing (which is a good sign, I hope) and he seemed home he said.. I will check his temperature as soon as I get home…it’s very possible that he was (is dyhydrated) – I felt a little bone in his body.. are you supposed to feel any bone on side of rib at all??? I just don’t know..

Prayers on the way; I have you and all your babies in my thoughts.  Is Ceasar dehydrated?  A subnormal body temperature is sometimes a byproduct of dehydration.  Did the fluids you gave help at all or is it too soon to see a response?

He sort of not wanting to eat at all since last night or so, and that continued on this morning.. his paws were a bit cold and his temperature is lower than usual (was somewhere between 95 or 99)… I know it’s bad when a temperature is going down than having fever and I am sooooooooooooooooo scared!  He is hiding right now. I gave him warmed fluid to his tummy and he has a heating pad right now--- but I just can’t afford to lose him!  He is the one who swalloed the bottole top a few weeks ago.. I don’t know what’s going on – he still nurses but just does not want to eat off the plate like other babies –

 

I talked to the vet but there was not anything they can do at this point –please let me know if you have any suggestions – otherwise, please please pray for my Ceaser, that he will only get better very quickly!!
