using an animal as a model of infectious disease usually means using them in lab experiments in order to advance research for human medical purposes. this sentence sounds ominous to me.I was thinking of it more in terms of researching feline retroviruses, didn't really associate it with human medical research because I didn't think feline retroviruses and human retroviruses were interchangable.
