I’m so sorry about Peanut too.  What really strikes me is that you wondered if you had done the right thing.  Please know that there is no “right” decision to be made – you have to look into your heart and do what it tells you.  It sounds like that’s exactly what you’ve done.  You gave Peanut as much as you could give and did as much as possible.  What else can we do?  So of course you did the right thing for Peanut.
