Well, I am in Austin, Texas, but they don't want to be stolen.  They think everything is just fine the way it is.

Where are you located?  I think I'd like to steal a couple of this "rescue's" fosters....

If they are unwilling to shift some cats to another foster or to work with you on this, then I suggest that you start working on placing the ones who are adoptable.  Really, if you are the foster, then ultimately the cats are the rescue's responsibility.  They should not have overloaded you so badly and they should be damn glad to have you and more than willing to work with you to get those cats placed.

Heh, I am seen as a REALLY BIG WHINER.  The other fosters are so accustomed to not getting reimbursed for anything that they just think I am a horrible person for pushing this.  One of their fosters wrote off $30,000 in medical expenses for her fosters on her taxes!  I just cannot do that.  They don't think much of me, I am afraid.  God forbid that I should be reimbursed for my expenses!  Like I said, they said there was only so much money in the fund, and I said then you are rescuing too many cats!

In situations like this, triage -- take the most adoptable first and work on getting them adopted.  Then go to the next most adoptable.

Where are you in the 501(c)(3) process?  Take a look at www.rescuealliance.org.  I'm a member.  If you haven't filed the 501(c)(3) paperwork yet, then perhaps you would like to join the Rescue Alliance.  Let me know.

Thanks, I will look.

Also, the cat with chronic stomatitis and other issues -- consider low dose oral interferon for her.  It has been shown to be very effective with stomatitis.  What are you doing for the ringworm?

I will try the interferon.  She hates the flagyl, poor baby.  I am treating the ringworm topically right now since she hasn't gotten her spay stitches out.  As soon as she does I am bathing her...Malaseb is what I generally use.  I have heard good things about healthguard laundry additive and spray too..anyone else?

There are too many rescues who abuse the rescue/foster relationship.  I have heard too many stories of cats dumped on fosters and the foster essentially abandoned.  If it feels like this is happening to you, then you need to give them written notice that you expect them to lift some of this burden off you or you will do it yourself.  And, then, do.

I'll try.  There are few fosters in this agency, and most have 20+ cats each.  In other words this is normal for this agency and I am seen as the "bad seed."  Maybe they all have much more money than me and it isn't a financial burden to them.  I know for a fact one of them is independently wealthy, but not sure on the rest and it is none of my business.
