i believe that the full series is preferable if you do not know the history--with all vaccinations. experience at the sanctuary showed that adult cats who did NOT receive two distemper/calici/etc shots when they came in were NOT protected when a feral colony brought distemper in. i can't remember what the documentation says--but i don't recall it saying that a single shot was adequate for an adult being vaccinated for the first time.

Hi guys, Do adult cats with unknown histories who come into rescue need one FELV innoculation or two? (one plus booster). I know distemper vaccines need to be boostered in kittens, what about FELV? -- Vist the Rescuties store and save a kitty life! http://astore.amazon.com/rescuties-20
