Me neither. I believe their goal is that animals should not be subjected to the "tyranny" of human ownership, even though Fluffy and Fido are no more capable of surviving "running free" than a goldfish (and when they do, usually have about the same lifespan as one). PETA needs to go back about a few million years in the evolutionary process and talk to the cavemen and wolves who buddied up in the first place.
I'm not saying that all their causes are bogus -- circuses are cruel, the way we get our meat is unnecessarily brutal, and people should be concerned about those animals too. But yes, they are deeply hypocritical in their treatment of animals that have not "run free" since Man first picked up a stick and threw it. They have lost sight of what animal welfare and animal rights really mean.
