Thank you, Kat - I wrote to Susan, giving her some info on FeLV, about the
tests, and about false positives.

I think that she would really benefit from others sending her their advice
as well, such as keeping a positive cat with healthy one, vaccinations, etc.
Considering that her two cats are still very young, it may pose a different
situation than if they were adult..

My name is Kat Parker and I have been lurking on this list for probably
close to a year--not sure exactly. I have been afraid to post thinking when
I did my baby might get sick. (Makes no sense, I know, but I have that
unreasonable fear) Feels like I know so many of you already, reading your
posts, your sadness, your strengths, and I feel the love in this group. I
am in San Diego, and I do rescue, like so many here. That is how I got my
Awesome Opossum. Anyway, I was reading Natalie's post about the LA Susan,
and actually I just got done emailing the network here regarding that.
Seems she is not very well researched on the illness. Maybe some of you can
email her your knowledge, and she might decide to deep the baby at least for
a while in her room? I will,. later, cause I have a thousand things to do
today. It's nice to finally introduce myself, though. You all really
inspire me. I seriously respect this group. More later, when I have more
time. Blessings.

Love and Katnip,
                  ~Kat~ =^,,^=

Subject: [Felvtalk] Anyone in CA know of someone to take FeLV kitten?

Can anyone help? Natalie

sus...@bannermattress.net writes:

I found a stray kitten at work last week. I took her to my vet this Saturday
and she tested positive for feline leukemia. I already have two kittens, 7
months and 3 months old, so there is no possibility for "Rockie" to join my
household. I have heard that there are people who keep or foster cats with
leukemia. Do you know of anyone who does this?

She is a friendly, sweet, delightful little tortie who gets along
wonderfully with my two dogs. She is approximately 7 weeks old and weighs in
at a whopping 1.11 lbs.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
