It's usually now called Mycoplasma Hemofelis. It's a blood parasite, and causes anemia in cats. Mostly thought to be from fleas and ticks. It is often asymptomatic unless combined with some other disease process, so may go undiagnosed. Treatment can be with a tetracycline (usually doxycycline) or some florquinilones (Baytril/Zenequin).
