Simon is even better today than the last two days. Although he is sleeping
now, he was litterally trotting around this morning, being very silly and
curious (is fascinated by the discovery of our snow shoes in our coat closet)
and ate some dry food and tender vittles (though seems to be off of roast beef
and on to honey ham!). His jaundice looks entirely gone, though he still
looks very anemic. I do not know what any of this means, and realize it is
probably very temporary, but am happy about it for now. he also looks to
me like he has gained a little weight back, though still seems to have the
muscle wasting thing (cachexia? or possibly from the high doses of
steroids).
He started sneezing last night. He sneezes a few times every hour, with no
discharge. His chemo a week ago is supposed to lower white blood cell counts
about a week later, i.e. now, so i was thinking about putting him on
antibiotics. Gray convinced me to wait and see if it resolves on its own or gets
worse before starting the antibiotics, because last time I thought the
antibiotics interfered with his already depressed appetite. Do you think it is
ok to wait and see?
Thanks,
Michelle
