Cherie,
I have several vets that I use.  Of the three I use the most, one is a sort of "GP"; another practice has 2 very expensive, but knowledgeable, internists; and I just found this wonderful East/West vet that is helping me with some alternative options.  If you think there is a problem, and it sounds like there might be, I'd seek out another opinion.  From what you say about Amber's symptoms when she came to you, it sounds like there may be an existing condition that needs to be diagnosed/treated.  I'm sure your current vet is right when they say "it is just an effect of the feluke", that's what this disease does, it damages their immune response so they get sick!   What we need to do is be very aggressive with treatments and catch things early.  What I would do, is ask around in your area for references to miracle-worker vets, call and ask if they've had experience with treating FeLV, and take her in.

Nina,
I have had major problems with the FeLV list, but Terrie is helping me god bless her. My vet has looked at her lungs and say that there is no upper respitory infection it is just an effect of the feluke, which I am not sure I buy right now, since we are not really sure what Snowball passed from. When I first got Amber she sneezed alot and could not swallow very well, and when she sneezed brown liquid came out, but that has not been for quite awhile now. Maybe I am just being paranoid again, I just hope she lives to be a ripe old age of 24, that would make me very happy....I know wishfull thinking, we can always hope.
