I became involved w/ Spalding after getting a
cross-post about the shelter. That's when I first visited the site and saw my
Daisy..... I put in a Last Chance Notification for her and was literally quite
astounded that she hadn't been saved...... That's how my Spalding experience
started.
Over the years I've pulled numerous Last Chance
cats...... I still have 3 here as my personal "kids"...... I wouldn't give
them up for the world!!
And Daisy is a Turkish Van......gorgeous. How she
ended up digging garbage out of a dumpster & living in a feral colony,I just
can't fathom.
Harriet came from the same colony, a drop-dead
gorgeous LH tortie. But you know how "attitudes" go along w/ torties....... And
besides the attitude, she was so scared, she spent her first 6 months here
living under my bed!
And Puma is a Devon Rex. Somehow he lost his owner and
was dumped there @ the age of 12!!! Initially he had some major problems w/ his
liver, I almost lost him. But he pulled thru & is going strong at
16!!
I am glad that there are so many dedicated people
working to get these babies out....... It's a shame. Spalding still uses a gas
chamber.
