I talked about this with Marie at SIAM CSE many years ago. Sorry it took so
long but it's finally there. I'm sure there will be some issues to iron out
but feel free to ping me or open an issue at trac.macports.org if anything
pops up.

Just a note that sourcing a bash script is not necessary for the MacPorts
version.
