>From the feedback I received, I made an improved docker image for FEniCS:

1. Installation is even easier (2 lines on Archlinux).
2. The interface becomes a ssh server only accessable locally (can be made
public as well, see instructions). The user only needs to ssh into the
virtual machine to run FEniCS, which should be more familiar. X forwarding
and plotting works as well.
3. File sharing is done through scp or sshfs, which works on mac.
4. The directory /home is made persistent, making upgrading FEniCS easier.
