The departments of mechanics and mathematics of UPMC/Paris 6 University are 
looking for a one or two-year postdoctoral researcher on the topic of 
variational approach to fracture mechanics. The funding relies on an 
interdisciplinary project between the Institut Jean Le Rond d'Alembert and the 
Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions of UPMC, located in central Paris. It is 
financed by the Calsimlab

The candidates should preferably be familiar with modern methods of calculus of 
variations and/or variational approach to fracture mechanics. A strong 
background on numerical analysis and scientific computation will be 
appreciated. The code development will be based on FEniCS.
