thx for the reply/interesting points Ray. Got it working by reinstalling mongrel and following documentation at: http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/apache.html Also went through the deployment section in the 2nd edition Agile Web Development with Rails' by D Thomas. Well worth the buy and read. thx again.
