Hi all,

in case someone has been wondering, here is a list of Apple phones etc. where I have tested .caf files with Opus audio, made with FFMPEG 8.0, for playback in the built in Safari browser:

iPhone 4S: no
iPhone 5: no
iPhone 5S: no
iPhone 5C: no
iPhone 6: yes
iPhone 6S: yes
iPhone 7: yes
iPhone 7+: yes
iPhone 8: yes
iPhone Xr: yes
iPhone Xs: yes
iPhone 11: yes
iPhone 12: yes
iPhone 13: yes
iPhone 14: yes
iPhone SE: yes
iPhone SE2: yes
iPhone SE 5G: yes
iPad Air 2: yes
iPad 1: yes
iPad 8: yes
iPad mini 1: yes
iPad pro 1: yes

A yes means Safari is able to play all mono .caf files from 10 Kbit to 32Kbit mono audio in Opus audio. A no means none of them. So no matter the implementation in FFMPEG 8.0 - it's sufficient enough for playback in the built in Safari browser. And being tiny in file size and high in quality, it doesn't get any better. So please reintroduce the .caf container from FFMPEG 8.0...? :-)

Best regards,
/Klaus Jakobsen
