I noticed that FFmpeg’s public gitweb source browser does not yet appear
to include the narrow-viewport improvements released upstream in
Git 2.54.

I contributed the five-patch series that added these improvements to
gitweb. It prevents wide source, log, commit, tree, and diff content
from causing page-wide overflow, improves the handling of long headers
and footer content, and makes the interface substantially easier to read
at narrow window widths without repeatedly zooming and panning
horizontally.

The submitted patch series, including before-and-after screenshots, is
available here:

https://github.com/gitgitgadget/git/pull/2043

The change is included in the Git 2.54 release notes:

https://gitlab.com/git-scm/git/-/blob/v2.54.0/Documentation/RelNotes/2.54.0.adoc

If FFmpeg’s gitweb deployment can be regenerated or updated from Git
2.54 or newer, these improvements should be included. If updating the
deployment is not currently practical, I would also be happy to prepare
a minimal backport against the version FFmpeg presently uses.

Would either approach be useful?
