For the record, this behavior in Matroska will stop after my CRC32 patchset. As an example of this, take the first of the fate-lavf-mkv commands, the one that creates a file with an attachment, and make it output to a non seekable protocol. The result will have the Attachments master being corrupted as it tried in vain to jump back to the beginning of the master to write the element size long after having flushed.
