Another thing I noticed when using git send-email is that whilst the emails show up in the archive (http://ffmpeg.org/pipermail/ffmpeg-devel/2016-November/202830.html) they don't seem to get routed through the usual mplayer servers, have the [FFmpeg-devel] subject tag or the mailing list footer.
