the team wants you to link to the source on your website.

the gpl says that you have to distribute the source that you used to build the 
program. while this isnt as important in programs like yours (which do not 
change any source), it is very important for other programs so that the user 
may build a working replacement.

in essence, its better to link to the source you made your ffmpeg binary from. 
you can always add a note like 'please use latest ffmpeg source if you want to 
compile your own'

please dont take anything we say too personally, the ffmpeg team is just getting
fed up with the numbers of people who arent following the gpl.
