New submission from funicorn <funic...@gmail.com>:

I encountered a problem when playing rmvb files using ffmpeg codec. The sample I
uploaded shows when playing certain types of rmvb files, mplayer does not render
the picture properly, which is "squeezed" onto the lefttop corner of the player
window, leaving a large black blank both on the right and bottom sides.

To repeat the same problem, just type
$ mplayer some_file.rmvb

I was told mplayer would use ffrv40 by default for realplayer10 files. However
if I use
$ mplayer -vc rv3040 file.rmvb; rv3040 is the real's official codec.
then mplayer works fine and the video picture is good. This makes me consider
the misformed picture rendering using ffmepg avcodec to be a bug problem.

Attached is a screenshot of comparison between using ffmpeg's avcodec and using
reals' drvc codec. You can see clearly the large black blank in the first
picture. I have uploaded the sample file to ftp named
rmvb_window_with_large_black_blank.
