its not fully fixed no. Also i wont work on this, if someone is interrested in it, id try to just rescale the reference pictures. This might also make an interresting small/qualification task. But there of course is some risk that simply rescaleing the pictures wont solve this. Iam just guessing what is wrong ive made no attempt to look at what the binary decoder does.
