However, if there is an MSS demuxer, many players based on ffmpeg(such as
mpv,ijkplayer..etc) can directly play MSS without transcoding, which will
benefit many applications. My understanding is that transcoding is also a
compromise method that has to be taken due to the lack of MSS demuxer. It
introduces some additional performance losses and increases the deployment
cost.
