I have the same problem, manifesting in the same way, but on iOS. I know
that the same exact code (both ours and ffmpeg) was working prior to iOS
15 upgrade.
I've tested on MacOS as well and seeing the same problem as OP: decoder
works on Intel Mac (MacOS 12.3), and fails on M1 (12.3 as well). I've
tested with 5.0.1, but not seeing changes in the relevant area, I expect
it to fail on HEAD as well
