Summary of the bug:
The `cropdetect` filter depends on the edge_common.c file being compiled,
but this is missing from the Makefile. Certain uses of "configure
--disable-filter[s]" may render ffmpeg unbuildable.
How to reproduce:

% make ffmpeg
