There are differences and not only for me. If FFmpeg developers are
considering there are no differences between codecs - although these
codecs are sharing same algos - then i feel very sad ... and i agree
mplayer is not the right tool for guys like me (it does not promote
codecs like e.g vorbis, flac)

nobody gives a f**k about this differences because they differ by country, codec and laywer you ask - and BTW stop talking about mplayer all the time - nobody cares here about mplayer because it's the wrong list, while using ffmpeg for many years no mplayer on any of my systems
