*Job Description:* Our client is looking for an Senior Engineer to own and lead its efforts to make its video streaming platform reliable, adaptive to varying network conditions, and as high quality as possible. A great candidate will be comfortable contributing to both the client and server. You will bring knowledge of video codecs and media streaming, and also be happy to learn new things and help improve any part of the system.
Hot Job Facts: ● Free on-site breakfast and fully-stocked kitchen with snacks, pop and more! ● Fast-paced environment using cutting edge technology ● Flexible working hours Responsibilities: ● Measuring performance and call quality at a deep level, and using that as a yardstick against which we measure progress. ● Optimizing the client library to improve streaming performance and reduce latency. ● In conjunction with the software development teams, you will create video scripts that can be seamlessly integrated into existing software ● Developing techniques to improve reliability and quality on all platforms, including mobile. Required Experience & Skills: ● Previous experience developing and optimizing real time video streaming systems. ● Have worked directly with media and video codecs (e.g., MPEG2TS, MPEG2 video, H.264, H.264, AAC), and know how the codecs work, what their limitations are, and how best to utilize them in a real-time system. ● Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment, and strong scripting skills ● Multiscreen, VOD and/or IPTV systems experience ● Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering ***NOTE: All applicants MUST be authorized to work in Canada.
