What is the relationship between colormatrix and colorspace? Are they used together or separately?
Is colorspace obsolete? Is colormatrix a newer version of colorspace, but one that works correctly?
The answer to this question is... complicated.
Colorspace is the SPACE of colors (as the name suggests) and colormatrix is a... conversion method
(between two colormatrixes)
For example, imagine colorspace as range: the main range of computer colors 0-255 shades. As you
know, the classic TV range is narrower, 16-235. However, "today's" advanced gamuts are much much wider.
On the other hand, colormatrix: is like a color chart in a given colorspace/range - it's something
like (!!!) a way to convert CMYK colors to RGB or convert color to gray - because depending on the
way / colormatrix, medium gray can be #777, #707070 or #777777 or #7f7f7f etc.
I wrote it briefly and figuratively.
Maybe someone can explain it better and more understandably...
Ha, ha, ha... I mean the filters. I discovered that I don't need to use the
colorspace filter at all!
Is the colorspace filter obsolete?
