I have a small high whorl spindle I use in the car - can't get a lot of mileage out of each "draft" but it all adds up fast when you are "trapped" and just spinning. Have lots of hand spindles I use all the time, but have only two that are small enough to be practical in the car. I look up frequently and make it a point to sit up straight. My Takli is good too, unless road is curving or bumpy, then it is hard to draft the cotton smootly. (Sometimes I think my DH can cause whiplash in a parking lot the way he hits the brake pedal.) Color - YES!!! Dying mohair and wool for a class I will be teaching in March 2002 and doing all colors - rainbow pot for one batch of mohair, and bright bright red and orange for another - and boy did that come out great. Will do pots of full intensity and pastel in red/pink, yellow/orange, blue, tealie green, navy(pastel is a light almost lavender), turquoise and purple. That just about covers it all.
