I just returned from my spinning/weaving Guild's annual October Sale Day.
What fun! Vendors galore and members who had items for sale!

What caught my eye, right away, was the weaver who was selling <gasp>
shawls made from LB's Homespun. She'd worked them up on her large triangle
loom. Having just heard about doing that same thing, on this list, I was
full of questions.

The shawls were drop dead gorgeous. Wouldn't you know it--the one question
I forgot to ask was 'how much?'. When I went back to ask, I discovered that
she'd been cleaned out. Not one left. They were purchased by fiber folk and
non-fiber folk alike.

She explained that when someone comes up and says, 'I'm allergic to wool.,'
rather than go through the 'oh, it's probably the chemicals. etc....'
routine, she shows them the Homespun shawls. She says no one's curled their
lip and refuse to buy, because the fiber was a synthetic.

Not all fiber people think they're lowering their standards if they
use/sell synthetics. :)
