Hi Maggie, and anyone else interested in marketing handspun. Another thing
that helps is to have a swatch of the yarn knit up with the needle size and
gauge printed on a tag attached to the swatch. One of the best displays I
have ever seen was a woman that had the yarn knitted up in about 10
different needle sizes from quite small to quite large. It was knitting in
one continuous length each 4" long along the length of the "swatch scarf".
It showed exactly what effect changing the needle size would do to the look
and feel of the yarn so the person buying could decide for themselves which
needle size was appropriate for their project.
Also, at $7/ounce are you getting your labor costs as well as the fiber
costs? It seems very inexpensive to me!
