At NWRSA conference 2003 there was a class on making a rope like fiber from raw roving using a Mexican wood twirler. It did some beautiful work and was relatively easy. We made a rug, halter rope, fine bracelet rope and the like. It is called a taravia. If you are interested, I can look up the teacher's website for you. Pat in Oregon
