Dear Senator Roxas,

I should like to thank you for the kind response.

Indeed, we, the working overseas Filipinos would appreciate getting a slice
of your attention and support not only in the case of pre-need plans but
also in providing OFWs especially those who have retired and come back home
for good to join their respective families.

As an OFW myself for the last 25 years in the Middle East, the time has come
that I need to go home and be with my family. But what services and support
does our government has done and would be done to augment our meager take
home pay and to help us with our medical, hospitalization, subsistence as a
would be senior citizen in our beloved country?

What are the concrete assistance and supports are we expecting ? or shall I
say, what kind of hope are we expecting to happen when we OFWS finally come
home?

Mr. Senator, I believe the future of OFWS who have toiled and work hard all
their lives abroad and sending regular remittances to our country is quite
dim and not promising when they go home and join their respective families.

It is for this reason that I would like to call the Senator's attention and
support that while we still have the time and the opportunity to launch and
enact laws benefiting Overseas Filipinos when they retire back home, the
House of Senate should not wait and waist time in doing their assignment,
because the returning OFWS cannot wait any further than this time when our
lawmakers would be able to enact realistic laws providing for retirement
benefits of OFWS who have worked abroad for more than five years or more.

I would also like to inform you that I believe our OFWs are ready to help
and support those lawmakers who we believe would also support and provide us
the retirement benefits we deserve. I for one would do my best to extend the
necessary support to your good plans for us, OFWs.

I trust that with Almighty God's blessing, you will make it to the
Presidency, Mr. Mar Roxas so that you would be able to better help us, the
poor OFWS when we finally retire home to our native beloved country.

Respectfully,

Dick E. Orense
