Dearest to all,
Thank you very much for all the suggestions and recommendations. Please
comments and suggest to the following:
Since cataloging is a way of describing materials to make them easy to identify
and locate. It help users to identify useful materials and know where to find
them. In labeling the audiovisual materials, the abbreviations of the AVM are
as follows:
1. Video - DVD - digital, VR - Videorecordings, KIT - kits, GL - Globes,
MA-Maps. 2. Sound Recordings (non-musical and musical) ACD - Audio Compact
disk, AT - Audiotape, ACT - audiocassette?
Example:
VCD001
791.4342 The last samurai [videorecording] / a Warner Bros. Pictures
presentation ; a Radar Pictures/Bedford Falls Company/Cruise-Wagner Production
; screenplay by John Logan, Edward Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz ; produced by
Marshall Herskovitz ... [et al.] ; directed by Edward Zwick...
* Saan mas maganda ilagay ang label like the call number together with the
Accession Number and the type of material ( VCD001 + 791.4342)is it on top of
the spine of the AVM or at the bottom of the AVM or depende sa nagkakacatalog?
Its my first time to do AVM cataloguing even though I have one subject under
Mrs. Nera about cataloguing of AVM materials.
Thank you and more power to Filipino librarians group. God bless.
