For those who are not covered by schools' usual two-week Christmas
break starting Dec. 20 to Jan. 4, 2009:

"Malacanang declares Dec. 1, 26, and 29 non-working holidays."
"Already banks have posted a "notice" with a similar message: The last
banking day for the year 2008 is on December 24. Banks will resume
banking services the following year on January 2, 2009."

"Proclamation No. 1463 signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on
February 18, 2008 "declaring the regular holidays and special non-
working days for the year 2008."
